Company Description

CareBand is a location-based health and safety IoT wearable company with initial focus of helping seniors living with dementia stay safe and out of the hospital. CareBand was the first company in the world to bring a LoRa-based wearable to the market.

Started about 5 years ago, we have developed, tested, and validated the product with customers and are now looking for someone who has a strong technical acumen to join to accelerate our engineering for our next-gen product. Job Description

We are looking for an electrical designer to help with board design and verification for the electronics within a wearable device. You will be part of the hardware development team, supporting all aspects of the product development cycle and associated activities. This will be on a 3-month contract with an opportunity for long-term employment.

 

Related work areas and experience include:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering (or related field) and 5+ years of experience

  • Analog/power, RF, and digital circuit design (mixed-signal) experience from concept through production- extensive and complete board design experience

  • Requirements traceability, design concept/architecture, trade studies, part selection, schematic/symbols, layout guidance, and test/verification

  • Effective interfacing and understanding of tradeoffs with other cross-functional disciplines including software, mechanical, and industrial design

  • Documentation of design/analyses as well as test and verification plans

  • Familiar with guiding all aspects of PCB design, including layout/stackup, routing guidelines, DFM,/DFT, and best practices

  • Attending and conducting design reviews

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Highly responsive and communicative, self-starter, organized, proactive

  • Experience with low-power RF, small boards, and multiple antennas is preferred.

 

Knowledge of specific tools/software:

  • Proficient in Altium for schematic capture and for layout/gerber review

  • Hands-on lab experience; test equipment setup and usage
